Creative Action Application

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
 
The application process is meant to challenge you to reflect on what draws you to the program. Please allow yourself time to thoughtfully and thoroughly complete your application. Only complete applications, with all required sections, are considered eligible. 

There are four parts to this application: 

1. Student Self Reflection

2. Arts and Leadership Experience Survey

3. Artistic Self-Expression (ex. Digital copy of a visual artwork, Audio Recording of a musical composition or performance, Video Recording of dance performance or dramatic monologue)* 
It should be something that represents your interest and self-expression through the arts.

This portion should be uploaded to this form or emailed to CreativeAction@spsd.sk.ca.  Ensure that the student name and contact information is included in your email. If you feel that there is another format for an artistic submission, please email CreativeAction@spsd.sk.ca for clarification.

4. Referral 

The referral should be completed by a teacher that the applicant currently has (Grade 7 teacher, Arts Ed Teacher, Principal, etc.) 

If desired, an applicant can submit a second referral from a private instructor or community member. 

Ideally, references have known the applicant for 2 years, and can confidently reflect on the applicants’ strengths and weaknesses.  The reference should not be a family member of the applicant. 

 

ASSOCIATED COSTS

The cost to the student for this program will be a $100 student fee. Payment will be due when the student begins the program. Acceptance into this program is not based on the ability to pay. If cost is a barrier, we can address the issue if the application is successful. There may also be additional fundraising that will require student time only.

SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION

Make sure that that you have completed the above checklist, including Student Self-Assessment, Arts and Leadership Experience Survey, Artistic Self-Expression and provided referral information  Please submit a complete online application by April 26, 2024 at 4:00pm.
 
Incomplete and late applications will not be considered. 

The selection will be completed during the month of May. All eligible applicants will be placed in a random lottery. A maximum of 28 students will be randomly selected.  After selection, students will be notified of their status by email sent out in early June.  The waitlist will be a continuation of the random lottery and communication will only occur if a space becomes available.  PLEASE NOTE: All communication regarding application and admission will occur via email.  Ensure that the email address on your registration form is checked frequently.
