WSPR Tennis Survey

West Shore Parks & Recreation Society Tennis Survey

The West Shore Parks & Recreation Society (WSPRS) is considering the installment of an air supported structure over its current outdoor tennis and future outdoor pickleball courts for six months per year, beginning in fall 2025. The proposed covered season would run from October 1st through March 31st each year and operate under a fee-for-service model. From April 1st through September 30th the courts would remain first-come-first-served as they currently operate, with the potential addition of reservable court times for a fee. Group booking fees will also be implemented for those wishing to book more than 1 court at a time. A review of regional public comparisons will be used in the establishment of fees to ensure the fees remain reasonable.

WSPRS is seeking input from the West Shore tennis community regarding these potential changes to its outdoor tennis and pickleball offerings.
Benefits of covering the outdoor courts:
  • 12-months per year available play, reduced weather-related restrictions to access.
  • Improved court surface condition, environmental wear and tear to the court surface reduced.
Fee Structure Changes:
  • While covered, fees charged for all play.
  • While uncovered, fees charged for group and individual reserved times; free play when courts not reserved.
This survey will close on May 15th, 2024.
