Prairies Community Education Award Submission Form - 2024

In 2024, Carton Council Canada will be awarding $2,000 each to up to 15 communities from across the Prairie provinces (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta) for work in educating residents about recycling, with special attention paid to food and beverage cartons. 

For the first time since the launch of the CEA program in Canada, each participating organization’s submission will be automatically considered to receive either a first, second or third place award of merit (ranging from $3,000 to $1,000 in value).

Deadline to submit the form: June 21, 2024

Please note, responses to all three questions are mandatory.

Who is eligible?

Any entity or organization based in the Prairie provinces that educates residents about local recycling programs, including food and beverage cartons. This includes:
  • Municipalities and Cities
  • Sorting centres (both municipal and privately-owned)
  • Deposit Return System Operators
  • Not-for-profit organizations
  • Crown agencies
  • Any other organization that has recycling education as part of its mandate
Participating communities/organizations must:
  • Be based in the Prairie provinces
  • Demonstrate their websites accurately portray carton recycling
  • Provide at least two other examples of activities that promote recycling and prominently feature food and beverage cartons.
Key Dates:
  • June 21, 2024:  Deadline to register
  • November 1, 2024: Deadline to submit your entry (submission forms will be provided to all who sign up)
