uLead 2027 will take place April 18–20, 2027.
uLead is Canada’s premier conference for school leaders, bringing together educational leaders from across the country for rich conversation, deep professional learning and meaningful connection. This form allows you to indicate your interest in presenting at uLead 2027.
In this first round of the call for proposals, presenters whose submissions are selected by the committee will be contacted in November 2026. Due to the high volume of proposals received each year, only successful applicants will be contacted. Thank you in advance for your interest in contributing to the uLead conversation.
The theme for uLead 2027 is School Leadership Within the Teaching Profession. This theme invites delegates to reflect on leadership at both the school and system level that is grounded in leadership for learning and pedagogical leadership.
uLead 2027 will explore the role of the “principal teacher” in its truest sense. School leaders are lead learners and leaders of learning. The word principal itself is rooted in the idea of a teacher who serves as the “principal teacher.” We are seeking presentations that affirm and expand the understanding that school leaders are “teachers first” and lead learners before they are administrators or managers.
As you complete this proposal form, please identify the learning or leadership narrative your presentation will explore, the thinking and intentionality behind your work, and the ways other leaders may apply your learning within their own schools, divisions or systems. We are particularly interested in presentations that are practical, reflective, inspiring and grounded in authentic experiences from the field.
Please note that uLead is intentionally designed as an ongoing conversation about school leadership. We actively seek presenters who are committed to engaging fully in the conference experience and contributing to dialogue throughout the event. We are not seeking presenters who arrive solely for their session and depart immediately afterward.
If accepted, all presenters and co-presenters are expected to register for and attend the conference. In appreciation for sharing their learning and leadership stories, presenters will receive conference registration at a significantly reduced Alberta Teachers’ Association member rate.
