2026 -2027 Teacher Collaboration

2026 - 2027 Teacher Collaboration Program

Do you feel isolated in your school and would like to connect with another teacher in another building? Are there teachers in your building with whom you would like time to co-plan or share teaching and learning resources or ideas?
Teachers often seek support from other teachers to support them with planning, assessment, share their resources or co-plan a unit together. The ATA Local 38 Professional Development Committee would like to support teachers by creating an opportunity to visit each other’s school or to have time to collaborate.
The ATA Local 38 will provide one full day substitute for each teacher, for you to collaborate. You and your team partner will have discretion as to how these days will be used, provided they are spent working together on activities that further professional practice to enhance student learning. These activities must take place within Calgary, Alberta. They may include, but not limited to:
  • Help with planning units of study, discussion on assessment tools
  • Building IPPs, resources, unit plans, etc.
  • Visiting /observing other classrooms in your schools or at another school
  • Examining philosophies of teaching and learning
  • Accessing and developing resources
  • Visiting professional libraries, etc.
Who are the participants?
