Minimum Wage Survey

Introduction

The Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training, and Labour wants to hear your opinions on the minimum wage in New Brunswick as part of their review of the Employment Standards Act. The minimum wage is the lowest hourly wage that a New Brunswick employer can legally pay workers. Currently, the minimum wage in New Brunswick is $15.90.

The 2026 Engagement on the Minimum wage is an opportunity for organizations, employers, and workers to share their thoughts on the minimum wage in New Brunswick. We would also like to hear your thoughts on the overtime rate. The overtime rate is the lowest hourly wage that an employer can legally pay a worker for any additional hours they work above 44 hours in one week.

In this survey, we will provide a set of questions about the minimum wage and the overtime rate for you to think about. We will also provide information to help you understand the purpose and importance of the minimum wage and the overtime rate in New Brunswick.
