This interactive workshop will present the development, implementation, and evaluation of an outcomes-based molecular pathology curriculum designed for practicing pathologists. The session will begin with an overview of the rationale for the curriculum, its educational design, implementation strategy, and outcomes, highlighting both the intended and unintended impacts of integrating molecular pathology training into routine diagnostic practice.
Throughout the presentation, participants will engage in interactive polling to share their perspectives and experiences regarding molecular pathology practice, workforce readiness, and educational needs. These responses will provide real-time insight into the diversity of practice settings across Ontario and serve as a foundation for discussion.
The second half of the session will consist of facilitated small-group and large-group discussions to critically evaluate the curriculum, explore its applicability across different practice environments, identify barriers and enablers to broader implementation, and generate recommendations for refining and scaling the curriculum provincially and nationally. Participants will contribute to a collaborative discussion on how workplace-based, outcomes-focused education can support the integration of molecular pathology into routine pathology practice.
