The Trent Central Student Association (TCSA) has engaged Williams HR Consulting Inc. (WHRC), an independent consulting firm, to conduct an Anti-Racism Assessment. This survey is the first and most important step in that process.

This review is about TCSA, your students' union, and how it operates as an organization: its spaces, programs, elections, communications, governance, and support services. It is not a review of Trent University as a whole, and it is being conducted separately from any university-level process.

This is not an investigation. It will not assess, adjudicate, or make findings about any specific complaint, grievance, or ongoing investigation. This is a proactive, forward-looking effort to understand student experiences and identify how TCSA can become a more genuinely anti-racist and inclusive organization. If you have a specific concern that needs individual attention, please use TCSA’s complaint process or Trent’s Equity and Human Rights Office. Please do not name individuals anywhere in this survey.

Confidentiality:
WHRC is administering and analyzing this survey independently. Individual responses will not be shared with TCSA in an identifiable form. Results will be reported in aggregate, and where a group of respondents is small enough that individuals could be identified, results will be combined with broader results to protect confidentiality.

This survey is voluntary and anonymous. We especially want to hear from Black, Indigenous, racialized, and international students, as your experiences are central to this review, and we also want to hear from all TCSA-represented students, as everyone’s perspective helps us understand the full picture.
